What is biomass power generation?
Biomass power generation is a type of thermal power generation that generates electricity by turning a turbine using steam or gas generated using heat when burning wood scraps and burnable dust. Biomass power is a form of renewable energy, as follows.
Biomass power is a form of renewable energy, as follows.
Biomass power is generated with the purpose of being “carbon neutral“, that does not cause a net change in CO2 in the atmosphere. Although biomass plants emit CO2 when wood fuel is burned, CO2 in the atmosphere is re-absorbed through photosynthesis during the growth of replacement trees. This concept of a closed carbon loop is called carbon neutral.
The original source of energy in biomass is solar energy taken in by plants and stored by growth through photosynthesis. Biomass power is a renewable energy because it’s process can be repeated without depleting natural resources.
